A Small but well-formed RTSC team at Pwll Rhyngwladol Caerdydd (otherwise known as Cardiff International Pool!
Just 10 RTSC swimmers made the journey to Cardiff to compete in the City’s International Pool. In the final weekend of the national qualifying window, the competition was high and the atmosphere charged.
14 year old Lewis Binning made his journey worthwhile, claiming the gold medal in the 1500m Freestyle, whilst team mate Nathan Banga produced a 9 second PB to take 5th place. Binning went on to make the final of the 100m Breaststroke where he placed 6th.
15 year old Emily Milton had a great weekend of swimming, kicking off with a bronze medal in the 800m Freestyle, whilst big sister Georgia claimed the silver medal in the same event. Emily then made the final of the 200m Freestyle collecting a silver.
The final day of the 3 day competition saw Emily produce a 2 second PB in the 200m Individual Medley heat, before the evening session’s final saw her shave a further 2 seconds off!
Head Coach Gary Rogers was pleased with the weekend’s results and delighted by many the many PBs produced.
