RTSC spent Fathers’ Day at the K2 pool in Crawley!  A busy day of swimming commenced with the girls 100m Butterfly where 10 year old team mates……

Ella Kilby and Lexie O’Connor collected a gold and a silver.  12 year old Millie Hosler picked up a bronze for opening swim. 

100m Backstroke was next with 11 year old Raheel Mahmood taking his first gold medal of the day.  Kilby and O’Connor traded places for O’Connor to take gold and Kilby silver, along with 11 year old Tierney Rooney picking up a bronze medal in her age group.

It was bronzes all round in the boys’ 200m Freestyle: 10 year old Oliver Smith; Mahmood; 13 year old Connor McCarthy and 14 year old Luke Marney.

The sprints saw 12 year old Victoria Dreleva take gold in the 50m Freestyle with Mahmood taking silver in the 50 Breast.  Freshly back from University, Robin Hughes also picked up a silver medal in the 17+ category.

Session 2 produced a silver for Kilby and a gold for Dreleva in the 50m Backstroke.  Mahmood claimed silver in the 50m Butterfly.  Kilby and Dreleva medalled again in the 200m Freestyle – Kilby a bronze and Dreleva another gold. 

200IM gave Smith another medal (silver), Mahmood gold and McCarthy bronze.  The girls’ 100m Freestyle was the final event of Session 2 with O’Connor taking a silver medal for her effort.

The girls’ 50m Butterfly and boys’ 50m Backstroke kicked off Session 3.  Dreleva took gold again the Fly, with Smith and Mahmood both claiming bronze medals.  Dreleva also picked up a silver medal in the 50m Breaststroke and Mahmood a silver in the 50m Freestyle.

10 year old Aida Morter smashed her 200IM taking off 16.42 seconds to take the bronze medal.  Dreleva picked herself up yet another gold medal. 

Mahmood claimed gold on the 100m Butterfly and Denis Drelev (11) picked up the gold medal on the 100m Breaststroke.

It has been a busy few weeks of competition for Town, with a short break now before our own gala at the LAC on 14th July.  Just keep swimming …
