RTSC hosted their early County Qualifier at the prestigious LAC.  It was a full day of events commencing with the boys’ 200IM.  11 year old Raheel Mahmood started his day off in style by claiming the……

gold medal, with team mate Lewis Jarrett (11) taking the bronze.  Relative newcomer to RTSC, Jamieson McLaren (12) also clinched a gold medal with Danny Moody (12) taking the bronze.  13 year old Connor McCarthy, 14 year old Luke Marney and 15 year old Daniel Gencas all dominated their age groups to take a gold medal apiece.  Joseph Frost (15) picked up the bronze medal in the 15+ category.

200m Freestyle was the first event for the girls.  The 9 year old trio comprising Ruth Eguakhide, Maya Philips and Lily Lipinska took Town’s first 1,2,3 finish of the day.  Aida Morter (10) picked up a bronze, whilst 11 year olds Ella Kilby and Michelle Vassileva claimed silver and bronze respectively.  Top 3 finish number two came from the 13 year old girls: Victoria Dreleva; Magdalena Yordanova and Nicole Vassileva.  14 year old Holly Hagan picked up a silver, Isobel Jopson (15) and Amber Mason (15) secured a gold and a bronze in the 15+ age category.

Next came the 100m Freestyle with 9 year old Baris Muratoglu taking gold, 10 year old Connor Jarrett a bronze and Mahmood a silver.  Rigo and Jamieson took silver and bronze between them, whilst Marney and Lukas Birmantis collected gold and bronze in the 14 year age group.  Gencas dominated again to take gold, with 16 year old Vaughn Dooley taking silver and 15 year old Joshua Eguakhide bronze.

100m Breaststroke gave gold number 2 to Ruth Eguakhide, silver to Daisy Beenham (9) a silver and Philips a bronze; another 1,2,3 finish for the 9 year olds.  Lexie O’Connor (10) dominated to take gold with Rebecca Coogan (10) picking up bromze.  Kilby claimed bronze.  12 year old Amaya-Rose Dennis demonstrated huge strength of character to compete and take the silver medal – all of her team mates cheered her on with true RTSC spirit.  Ana Vasquez (12) took a bronze medal.  13 year olds Emilia Jopson and Samara Hamilton claimed a gold and silver between them, with Hagan collected a gold.  Jess Ayling (17) claimed silver with Maddie McCormack (16) taking the bronze.

The splash and dash of the 50m Freestyle gave Muratoglu another gold.  10 year old Alexander Ivanov took silver and Connor Jarrett bronze.  Mahmood claimed another silver medal with Denis Drelev (11) taking bronze.  Rigo smashed his time to take gold in a superb time of 30.27, with McLaren picking up a bronze.  Birmantis claimed a silver with Kebin Peter (14) taking bronze.  The 15+ boys produced another fine 1,2,3 finish: Gencas took gold in 25.54; Dooley silver in 26.33 and Eguakhide bronze in 27.71.

Ruth Eguakhide made it a hat trick of golds, this time claiming the top spot in the 50m Breaststroke.  Lipinska took silver and Beenham bronze – these 9 year old girls were on fire!  O’Connor picked herself up another gold, with Coogan taking bronze.  Codie McSheffrey claimed gold and Rooney a bronze.  The 13 year old trio comprising Dreleva, Emilia Jopson and Hamilton claimed a 1,2,3 finish, whilst Hagan and Jess Ayling both picked up golds, with McCormack taking silver.

The boys’ 50m Butterfly saw Ivanov claim bronze, Mahmood and Drelev gold and bronze between them, McCarthy bronze, Birmantis gold and the 15+ boys taking a 1,2,3 courtesy of Gencas, Dooley and Eguakhide.

Lipinska and Beenham took gold and bronze in the 50m Backstroke.  Morter and Coogan claimed gold and silver, Kilby gold with Kennedy and Hosler taking silver and bronze.  Dreleva and Yordanova claimed gold and silver.  Pyper Whittlestone (14) took bronze, Mason gold and Isabelle Jopson silver.

The 100m Backstroke was next for the boys: Baris Muratoglu claimed bronze; 10 year olds Wiktor Muniak and Connor Jarrett claimed silver and bronze; Mahmood, Lewis Jarrett and Oliver Smith made it a 1,2,3 for the 11 year olds; Rigo, Danny Moody and Enzo Fulton took the top 3 finishes for the 12 year olds; Marney gold; Gencas gold and Frost bronze.

McSheffrey picked up gold in the 100m Butterfly, with Michelle Vassileva taking silver.  Hamilton claimed gold, Nicole Vassileva silver, Georgia Marren silver and Amy Marren finished 3rd to claim the gold in the multi-classification category.

Session 2 started with the boys in the 200m Freestyle.  Ivanov took silver, Connor Jarrett bronze, Mahmood bronze, Rigo silver, McCarthy, Marney and Gencas all gold and Robert Moncur (15) silver.

The girls’ 200IM gave Ruth Eguakhide, O’Connor, Dreleva, Mason and Amy Marren gold medals.  Silvers went to McSheffrey and Nicole Vassileva,  Bronze medals were awarded to Morter, Sophia Moule (11), Rooney and Georgia Marren.

Mahmood took silver in the 100m Butterfly, McCarthy silver and the 15+ trio of Frost, Dooley and Moncur shared gold, silver and bronze.

The girls’ 100m Backstroke awarded Ruth Eguakhide gold, O’Connor gold, Michelle Vassileva silver, Hosler bronze, Nicole Vassileva silver, Amelia Moule (15) gold, Mason bronze and Amy Marren gold.

Muniak claimed gold in the 50m Backstroke with Connor Jarrett collecting silver and relative newcomer to RTSC Caleb Judd taking a well-earned bronze.  The 11 year old trio dominated too: Mahmood gold; Lewis Jarrett silver and Drelev bronze.  Rigo took gold, McCarthy bronze, Marney gold and Birmantis bronze.  The 15 year old trio cleaned up again with gold going to Gencas, silver to Dooley and bronze to Frost.

Ruth Eguakhide claimed another gold, this time in the 50m  Butterfly.  O’Connor continued to show her dominance, also picking up another gold, whilst Morter claimed silver.  Sophia Moule took silver with McSheffrey claiming bronze.  Rooney collected silver and Hosler bronze.  Dreleva took gold, Whittlestone bronze, McCormack silver and Georgia Marren bronze.

Baris Muratoglu took the win in the 50m Breaststroke with Connor Jarrett in bronze medal position.  Big brother Lewis Jarrett took the silver with Mahmood taking bronze. Rigo claimed gold with Luke James (12) taking silver.  McCarthy took gold, Birmantis silver, Kevin Peter bronze, Gencas gold and Aidan Fernandes (15) bronze.

The girls’ 50m Freestyle saw Ruth Eguakhide take silver and Beenham bronze.  Coogan claimed silver and Morter bronze.  Sophia Moule collected gold, Rooney silver and Kennedy bronze.  Freya Muratoglu picked up bronze, Hagan silver, Amelia Moule gold, Mason silver and Amy Marren gold.

Baris Muratoglu picked up gold in the 100m Breaststroke, Ivanov bronze and Lewis Jarrett a silver.  Rigo and James claimed gold and silver between them, Cristian Cubani (13) a silver and Gencas a silver.

The final event of the day was the 100m Freestyle where Ruth Eguakhide took silver, Beenham bronze, Coogan and Morter gold and bronze between them, Sophia Moule and Michelle Vassileva bronze.  Kennedy took bronze, Dreleva gold, Nicole Vassileva bronze, Hagan silver, Amelia Moule gold, Amy Marren gold and Amber Mason bronze.
