Essex Senior Winter Champs 2019

Romford Town swimmers made a huge splash at Basildon Sporting Village last weekend for the Essex County Senior Winter Short Course Championships.

Town had a very successful weekend winning 21 medals and 23 final placings, which meant they finished in second place overall in the club points table.  It was a superb result from the relatively small team of 12 -18 year old swimmers taking part.

9th David Jacobs Memorial Gala 2019

Romford Town Swimming Club hosted its 9^th memorial gala for David Jacobs to get the new season going, with 47 of its swimmers winning multiple medals at the annual meet held at Basildon Sporting Village.

Jacobs was an exceptional swimmer, who competed at National level and Olympic trials before he sadly passed away from Leukaemia in 2011.

The gala is a way for swimmers, parents and coaches to mark David’s  memory, while trying to qualify for county championships later in the season.

Nationals Championships 2019

Of the 10 that qualified, Romford Town sent 9 swimmers to this years Nationals Championships and came away with 4 medals, made 11 final places and produced several personal best times.
