Romford town swimmers enjoyed a great weekend of long distance racing at East Ham Leisure Centre.  For many it was their first time at attempting distance swims.  However, that didn’t hold them back as results showed many bests and county qualifying times were achieved.

London Winter Champs 2019

RTSC travelled to the iconic pool at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the London Regional Winter Swimming Championships.  Here the best swimmers from 40 teams and 32 London boroughs battled over 2 days to become regional Open and Junior Champions.

Town’s swimmers had a superb weekend, and came away with 5 medals, 20 top10 finishes and set many Personal Best Times.

Daniel Gencas 16 and swimming in the Mens Open category for the first time, followed up on his success from the Essex Winter Championships, to win a silver in . . . . . .

Jack Petchey award winners

Monday 11th November 2019 saw nine of our young swimmers receive their Jack Petchey awards. Presented by GB Paralympic Champion, Danny Crates.

The Jack Petchey scheme is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people.

Essex Senior Winter Champs 2019

Romford Town swimmers made a huge splash at Basildon Sporting Village last weekend for the Essex County Senior Winter Short Course Championships.

Town had a very successful weekend winning 21 medals and 23 final placings, which meant they finished in second place overall in the club points table.  It was a superb result from the relatively small team of 12 -18 year old swimmers taking part.

9th David Jacobs Memorial Gala 2019

Romford Town Swimming Club hosted its 9th memorial gala for David Jacobs to get the new season going, with 47 of its swimmers winning multiple medals at the annual meet held at Basildon Sporting Village.

Jacobs was an exceptional swimmer, who competed at National level and Olympic trials before he sadly passed away from Leukaemia in 2011.

The gala is a way for swimmers, parents and coaches to mark David’s  memory, while trying to qualify for county championships later in the season.
