*CORONAVIRUS UPDATE-15.06.2020* – Swim England release guidance on returning to the pool

Swim England has today (15.06.2020) published its comprehensive Returning to the Pool guidance.

The documents include robust recommendations ahead of the Government giving the green light for a return to the water following the Coronavirus pandemic.
Operators, Clubs, Swimmers and Coaches can now see how we will all have to adapt to a ‘new normal’ to ensure the safety of everyone visiting and working at pool facilities.
The guidance is based on the latest scientific advice and Government guidelines and will be regularly updated by Swim England to reflect any changes announced in the future.

James Gibson raises team morale during lockdown


Romford Town swimmers currently on lockdown away from the pool were extremely lucky to receive a morale boost from one of the world’s top coaches, James Gibson MBE.  Youngsters aged 8-22 yrs joined a motivational chat via video-phone link with him last week.

Gibson, raised in Whitham Essex, is a former World, European and Commonwealth Champion in 50m breaststroke, and is . . . . . . . . .

*Coronavirus update-20.03.2020*_Club activities suspended

Following the Government announcement to close leisure facilities in order to reduce the spread of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have no choice but to take the following action.


  • All Romford Town club activity has been suspended with immediate effect (20/03/2020 – 6pm). This includes all squad training sessions and the learn to swim programme.

Romford Town had lots to celebrate at the final weekend of this years Essex Championships, with three of its swimmers finishing as top points scorers in their respective age groups.  Seventeen year old Amelia Moule had her fourth consecutive win as Top Girl and Daniel Gencas won Top Boy for a second time both taking the Open age group award.  Victoria Dreleva had her first win as Top Girl, achieving success in the 15 yr old category.
